Kerala Gandhi Smarak Nidhi, Thycaud, Thiruvananthapuram, is a proud unit of the Central Gandhi Smarak Nidhi, Rajghat, New Delhi. Established under the visionary leadership of Kerala Gandhi, Shri Kelappaji, the Nidhi began functioning in 1951 as the state unit of the All India Gandhi Memorial Trust. In 1962, it became an autonomous institution with vital constitutional links to the Parent Body. Today, it is governed by a general body that elects a managing committee — a non-sectarian, voluntary set-up committed to carrying forward the programmes and ideals propounded by Mahatma Gandhi.
